With over £9 billion worth of regeneration taking place and a highly skilled and flexible workforce - Coventry is one of the most desirable locations in the UK.
Coventry is a growing city, identified by the government as one of only 20 New Growth Points in the UK. This will mean more homes, jobs and a stronger, more diverse economy.
Coventry is committed to working in partnership to develop over 300,000 m2 of new office space in the city and more than 120,000m2 of retail space in the city centre by 2026.

Earlsdon Park

The transformation of the City College site by Birmingham based regeneration specialist MCD, into a £110 million multi-use development, Earlsdon Park has already begun. A new 5,850 sq m (65,000 sq ft) state-of-the-art environmentally sustainable building will be the new home of the Qualification and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA), which is relocating from London and will employ more than 500 people. Completion during 2009.
Earlsdon Park will also include more than 500 apartments, commercial space, leisure facilities and café bars.

Belgrade Plaza

Will feature two hotels: a four star hotel, the city centre's first for many years, and a Premier Travel Inn. A Gala Casino, Metro Bar and Grill and Pizza Express are also expanding into this development. This £130 million scheme will include circa 250 apartments on the 1.4 hectare site. It will create a lively, vibrant entertainment and living quarter, brining major benefits and important new operators to the city centre. The scheme perfectly complements the multi-million pound improvements made to the Belgrade Theatre and will connect into the central shopping area.
Phase 1: The car park expansion and upgrade is now completed.
Phase 2a: Construction of the Casino, Premier Inn, bars, restaurants and apartments is underway.
Phase 2b: Radisson Edwardian construction should commence Autumn 2008.
Phase 3: Residential and office accommodation - timescales to be confirmed.

Millennium View

Richardson Cordwell is putting together plans for a mixed use commercial development which includes a hotel over seven storeys with more than 1,500 sq m of shops, café bars and restaurants on the ground floor.

Friargate

Cannon Kirk's £1.5 billion Friargate scheme will deliver 180,000 sq m (2 million sq ft) of high-grade offices, 67,500 sq m (750,000sq ft) of apartments and around 2.400 sq m (250,000 sq ft) of retail space, as well as nearly a hectare of public space around the Coventry railway station.
Cannon Kirk's vision for this exciting mixed-use development is to create a new commercial quarter for the city providing a link between the railway station and city centre. A single-level deck across the ring road will transform the interchange between the railway station and the city centre. Up to 15,000 new jobs will be created.

Severn Trent

Construction is underway to create 170,000 sq ft, multi million pound Severn Trent Centre in the heart of Coventry City Centre. Designed to achieve an excellent BREAM rating for its environmental and sustainable features it will be home to 1,700 people. The development also includes approximately 500 car parking spaces on site with easy access to the ring road.

No.1 Bishops Place

No.1 Bishops Place (previously AXA) is a six storey, £23 million pound, 6,781 sq m (73,000 sq ft) grade-A office scheme which includes plans for a three storey car park and attractive public square. Development partners Stoford Developments and AXA REIM plan to start on site in 2009.

Far Gosford Street

Far Gosford Street Conservation Area is an undiscovered gem at the eastern gateway to the city centre. It is undergoing a major area based regeneration with plans for small business and residential development alongside retail and restaurants. Phase one will see Complex Development Projects Ltd (CDP) refurbish listed buildings and build new buildings to provide offices, retail units, houses and flats. Further development phases will follow.
Swanswell Initiative

At more than 64 hectares the £600 million the edge of city centre Swanswell Initiative will create 2,000 new homes and a new learning quarter, home to the new £50 million City College and new Academy School. With potential for 100,000 sq m of new office space, a new swimming baths and sports centre, new community facilities and improved green space the Swanswell Initiative is the city's biggest and most exciting regeneration project.
The Swanswell Design Framework sets out a 10 to 15 year development vision that will allow the city centre to expand through and beyond the ring road. The next stage is to dismantle junction 2 of the ring road. This will create new development space, and help to better link City College, Coventry University and the Cathedral.

Cheylesmore Office Development

Planning permission for a 3,948 sq m (42,500 sq ft) grade-A prominent gateway office development has been granted and can be available to occupy 12 months from completing a legal agreement with the developer.

Coventry University

Occupying a purpose-built 33-acre campus in the heart of Coventry City Centre, the campus buildings and environment are constantly being developed and enhanced.
The University is investing £160 million in the campus over the next ten years, including construction of a new Student Enterprise Centre and a high-tech faculty building for Engineering and Computing.

Paragon Park

Developer Paragon UK Ltd has outline planning permission for the comprehensive redevelopment of a 23-hectare site situated between Foleshill Road and Stoney Stanton Road, just north of the city centre. It is rare to have such a large site in the heart of the city, with extensive frontage on to Coventry Canal and adjacent to the already successful Electric Wharf.
Paragon park will include five hectares of employment land and nearly 1,000 new homes including two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and apartments. There will also be four hectares of green open space, retail, health and leisure facilities. Site preparation work is expected to being in Spring 2009.

Whitley Business Park

This £130 million, 102,000 sq m (1.1 million sq ft) development by St Modwen Properties represents the changing face of Coventry's economy. Creating commercial space on one of the city's key industrial regeneration sites, it is expected to create more than 2,000 new jobs.
Whitley Business Park is aimed at local, regional and national companies, with buildings of up to 27, sq m (300,000 sq ft) to create a mix of employment on the site. In a prime business, with fantastic road connections and just a short distance from the city centre and Coventry airport infrastructure work and the construction of circa 60,000 sq ft of speculative offices are already underway.

New Deal for Communities

The Council, with partners Whitefriars Housing Group and New Deal for Communities, has agreed a £350 million redevelopment of one of the most deprived areas of Coventry.
The 15-year project will see the demolition of 2,000 rented properties, to be replaced by 2,500 new homes for sale and 1,000 new homes for rent. In addition there will be new playgrounds, improved green spaces and parks, upgrading of streets and new shopping centres. A further £11 million is being invested in a new state of art leisure and neighborhood centre.

Ansty

Ansty is a prestigious business park opportunity for technology companies. It is a major investment site with a central location and unrivalled access to the UK's road, rail and air network. Canley

The Canley area of Coventry is a pocket of deprivation in the south west of the city adjacent to the main University of Warwick campus. The Council has already delivered a new £8 million primary school, which opened January 2006 and an £11 million new state of the art leisure centre adjacent to Westwood Business park and Warwick University.
An outline planning application has been submitted for the £150 million regeneration project which will provide approximately 700 new homes for sale, rent or equity share. New community facilities including new library, a GP surgery, community centre and adult education facilities as well as new playgrounds improved parks and green spaces, improved parking for residents, better transport links and better quality, affordable housing will also help to transform the area.
Running in parallel to the physical regeneration will be a series of social, educational and economic projects including employment and training initiatives, business support and life long learning.

Lyons Park

Goodman acquired the former Jaguar manufacturing plant from Ford and are currently working up detailed proposals with the Council and the local community to bring forward a mixed use development. The new proposals focus on redeveloping the site for business and manufacturing uses, which will provide significant employment opportunities in a high quality environment.
The site is well located on the western side of the city providing easy access to the A45 and the national motorway network.

Stoneleigh Park

Home of the Royal Agricultural Society of England the estate which runs to almost 405 hectares is in the advanced stages of developing plans to create a Centre of Rural Excellence. It will embrace a series of dynamic sectors including bio-futures, farm and rural business, food and the countryside and equine supported by a national and international technology transfer programme of exhibitions, conferences and demonstrations. Plans include improved exhibition and conference facilities and a new access road.
Stoneleigh is ideally placed in the region, close to Coventry and its airport and identified as a key development zone for the region.

New Century Park

Goodman and British Land are currently working up proposals for the former Marconi site with the Council and local community to bring forward a mixed-use development. Demolition of the former Marconi facility has already commenced and the new proposals offer a mix of residential development together with a high quality business park all set within a quality built environment.
The site is well located on the eastern side of the city providing easy access to the A46/M6 and the national motorway network.

Riley Square

Riley Square is part of the Bell Green District Centre built in the 1960's, it consists of a mix of retail units with residential apartments above. There are two separate areas for parking providing a total of 170 designated spaces.
The area is also the main retail centre for the New Deal for the Communities (NDC) development that will create 2,500 new homes for sale.

ProLogis Park

ProLogis Park continues to go from strength to strength with over 2,000,000 sq ft of accommodation now built and occupied on this flagship development by ProLogis Developments.
A further 10 acre site, known as Plot J, has now been released for development. It can provide buildings for B1, B2 and B8 uses measuring from 20,000 sq ft up to 95,000 sq ft.

University of Warwick

The outline planning application for the expansion of the main campus over the next ten years aims to increase the existing built estate by 171,000 sq mtrs (from 427,000 sq. m. to 598,000 sq mtrs).

Ryton
Formerly home to Peugeot, Ryton has been acquired jointly by Trenport Investments Limited and Ryton Properties Limited. Planning applications have already been submitted to Rugby Borough Council for the 120-acre brownfield site, in either manufacturing or distribution.
The new buildings will meet the needs of modern companies looking for premises in the area and with excellent road connections up to 3,000 new jobs could be created.
Banner Lane

Banner Lane will extend to over 12 hectares (29.6 acres) of Business Lane when completed and has the benefit of outline planning permission. The site has been cleared ready for development and will offer the opportunity for up to 46,451 sq m (500,000 sq ft) of buildings tailored to occupier's requirements and for uses including office, hi-tech and manufacturing, all set within a landscaped environment. Buildings will potentially range from 464.5 sq m (5,000 sq ft) upwards.
Banner Lane is well located for Coventry City Centre as well as benefiting from a good labour supply pool and access to road, rail and airport links.
