Coventry is a dynamic, vibrant and diverse city with a rich and colourful history.
More than 300,000 people live here now, but growth is high on our agenda and the future will offer more opportunities for everyone.
As a place to live, the city already has plenty to offer.
If shopping is your thing, a wide range of high street names, the UK's first city centre Ikea store, a national award-winning indoor market and specialist retailers add up to an interesting mix.
Coventry's developing bar and restaurant scene features Arabic and Turkish, as well as all the usual suspects.
Its cultural portfolio includes Warwick Arts Centre, the country's biggest arts complex outside London, the two-venue Belgrade Theatre, one of the UK's strongest producing houses, plus the world-ranking Coventry Transport Museum and the newly revived Herbert Art Gallery and museum complex.
All have received major investment in recent years to give the city a growing reputation in the arts and culture.

Coventry is a sporting city too. The award-winning Ricoh Arena is fast getting a name for itself as a football and rugby stadium, as well as a concert venue. Ice hockey, swimming, athletics and speedway are all sports with a strong following in the city and Coventry is still one of only 12 places in the UK to boast a 50-metre swimming pool.
Above all, this is one of the greenest urban environments in the country, set in the heart of Warwickshire, Shakespeare's county.
