The aim is to increase the quality and diversity of smaller specialist traders within Coventry city centre. CV One is a private, not-for-profit company which combines operational responsibility for the management and development of the city centre with responsibility for destination marketing. In 2004 and 2005 they are also running this pioneering scheme to attract new niche retailers and leisure operators. This is deliberately targeted to enhance the variety of the city centre offer and enliven the visitor experience for both shoppers and tourists. Successful applicants can receive up to £60,000 in non repayable grants to subsidise premises rental plus fascia improvements.
