The regeneration of Coventry City Centre is truly multi-faceted. The major developments shown in this section are key to our success, but so too are a number of other themes brought together in the Coventry Development Plan.
The Coventry Development Plan provides overall guidance towards the themes of: Avibrant and entertaining market place; a living heart; warm and welcoming public spaces; accessibility for all; and good design and management. These themes are fundamental to the quality and success of our city and will incorporate events, housing, environmental improvements, lighting and marketing. They create the big picture into which everything else fits.
Events
Building on a number of successful events, CV One's events team is now responsible for the development, planning and delivery of a programme of more than 20 annual events in Coventry, most of them focused on the city centre. The programme is a fundamental component of Coventry's regeneration plans.

An additional 700 are programmed over the next two years.

Environmental improvements
Two approaches are being taken to address environmental improvements in the city centre. CV One is engaging in a range of improvements to create a cleaner, safer city centre environment. City Development Directorate is also leading on a variety of major environmental improvements that will complement the major landmark developments recently completed and those still to come in the future.

Lighting
A strategy for lighting the city centre has been developed by Speirs and Major, internationally renowned lighting specialists. Unique lighting projects are now boosting the night-time economy by making the city centre a safer, more vibrant and exciting place to visit and spend valuable leisure time. The strategy also provides guidelines to further improve the quality and security of the city centre by night.
